Outreach Co-ordinator (East Hub)

We are recruiting for a new Outreach Co-ordinator to join our team in the East Hub. Our Outreach Co-ordinators lead our Outreach Workers to deliver high quality personal development work with our participants and are responsible for developing strong and effective partnership relationships across local authorities.

The successful candidate will plan and align staff deployment, undertake initial programme eligibility checks, carry out weekly caseload management assessments and oversee a range of personal development provision. Key to the role is developing strong networking and partnership links, to ensure appropriate referrals, Venture Trust delivery which meets the expectations of clients and referrers, and quality employability opportunities in the third phase of the programme. The Outreach Co-ordinator will also be responsible for supporting and line managing Outreach Workers across the East Hub regions and will work closely with wilderness journey teams to ensure effective co-ordination, delivery and review of all programmes.

Ideal candidates will have qualifications in youth work, community education or similar, or equivalent proven experience of guiding and supporting vulnerable and disaffected people. Knowledge and experience of delivering personal development work underpinned by approaches and techniques such as Experiential Learning, Choice Theory/Reality Therapy and Pro-Social Modelling is also essential, as is knowledge of the voluntary and statutory sectors in Scotland. Ideal candidates will have strong planning, co-ordination and time management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels and contribute to strategic planning, along with experience of line management, motivating and supporting a staff team to deliver results. Please note that a driving license and access to a vehicle is an essential requirement of this role.

The successful candidate will undertake the initial assessment of potential participants for our programmes (Phase 1), preparing and supporting them to undertake their wilderness journey (Phase 2), including induction to their SQA Personal Development Award where relevant. Upon return to their community (Phase 3), you will continue to work closely with participants to develop and maintain community links, supporting them into sustained positive destinations, including education, training, volunteering or employment. You will also help to collate SQA portfolios from Phase 2, delivering and assessing final bodies of work. Additionally, you will help to promote the programme with stakeholders, providing progress updates for referring partners and agents to develop and maintain effective relationships.

Ideal candidates will have qualifications in youth work, community development or a related discipline and/or an equivalent level of experience working with vulnerable and disaffected individuals. You will also ideally be qualified as an SQA Assessor and have a strong knowledge of voluntary and statutory sectors in Scotland. You will have excellent communication skills with the ability to connect with stakeholders at all levels, and strong time management skills to manage a varied and demanding workload. An ability to work effectively under your own initiative is crucial. Experience of development training and knowledge of drug, alcohol and youth/Criminal Justice related issues would be an advantage. We have an exciting opportunity for a new Administrative and Finance Assistant to join our Corporate Services team. The successful candidate will co-ordinate and carry out day-to-day administrative duties within the Edinburgh office including, but not limited to, answering calls and welcoming visitors, managing meeting rooms, co-ordinating incoming and outgoing mail, arranging stationery orders and assisting with photocopying, filing and archiving. Working alongside our Senior Finance Officer, you will provide crucial support to the Finance team, including checking and processing staff expenses, inputting Sage 50 transactions, reconciling petty cash, and the preparing all staff and supplier payments. You will also be responsible for processing staff expenses and purchase ledger transactions for our social enterprise Venture Mòr Ltd and will support the Senior Finance Officer in the preparations of quarterly VAT returns.

Ideal candidate will have experience in a similar finance role, including maintaining a purchase ledger, preparing payments and having responsibility for petty cash. Some experience of using Sage 50 and/or Sage Payroll would be desirable.

The post-holder will also provide guidance and support to colleagues working on finance administration.

To be considered for the role, you will have relevant accounting qualification(s), or the ability to demonstrate appropriate skills and knowledge. You will be able to demonstrate excellent numeracy skills and attention to detail.
