Receptionist

We support and enable hundreds of community and older people’s groups across Scotland. We provide information, friendship and advice through our free helpline and publications. We tackle loneliness and isolation with our Community Connecting Service and much more.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a friendly and welcoming Receptionist at our newly refurbished head office in Edinburgh. Acting as the first point of contact with the organisation, this role is all about delivering excellent customer service to our service users, visitors and employees.

As a key member of the Resources Support Team, you will handle general enquiries to the organisation via our switchboard, mail and email in a highly professional and efficient manner, while maintaining health and safety standards throughout the Reception area.

You will, of course, have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to prioritise your own workload.

Please note that the Reception function must be covered between 9am and 5pm as per our business hours; however we would be happy to discuss options for flexible working with applicants.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head of Fundraising and Marketing to join the fundraising and marketing team at Age Scotland.

The purpose of this role is to develop and implement the fundraising and marketing strategy and manage, direct and support the fundraising and marketing team to meet ambitious annual targets whilst keeping expenditure within agreed limits.

You will be required to maximise core and restricted income with a focus on individual, legacy, retail, community and corporate fundraising and charitable trusts and grants funding.

With a focus on brand management, website development and direct marketing across multiple media channels you will raise the profile of Age Scotland.

The successful applicant will have a successful track record in fundraising and achieving or exceeding targets and broad experience of the full fundraising mix – individual giving, community, corporate and charitable trusts and grants.

The post will be based in Edinburgh.

Age Scotland is looking to recruit a number of new Trustees with a wide range of skills and experience to support the direction of the organisation. Candidates skilled in the areas of Third Sector leadership, Diversity Championing, Social Care and Housing, Digital Strategies, Fundraising, or Legal, would be of particular interest, as would those with an inter-generational perspective.

We also welcome candidates who do not have board room experience. Full induction and training will be provided.

As a Trustee Board Member, you will be responsible for the strategic direction, control and accountability of the Charity ensuring that its activities are in the interests of its beneficiaries and to ensure that the organisation complies with its governing document, charity law, company law and any other relevant legislation or regulations.

A time commitment of around 1 day per month is required. The Board currently meets 4 times a year (March, June, September and December) in Edinburgh).

These posts are not remunerated but reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.
