Changeworks’ runs a very successful energy advice and advocacy service for vulnerable householders across East Lothian, Edinburgh and Midlothian and the Scottish Borders regions. We are now seeking to recruit additional advisor capacity within the Affordable Warmth Team. We are therefore seeking energetic and supportive individuals with a ‘can do’ attitude to deliver affordable warmth advice.
You will be highly organised with excellent communication skills and a mature, responsible and client focussed, attitude. An energy or advice providing background is desirable, as is experience of producing high quality written reports, working with disadvantaged people and knowledge of fuel poverty. A Full valid driving licence is desirable or other ways of fulfilling the mobility requirements of the job

We are looking for a Senior Partnership Officer in the Home Energy Scotland South East advice centre. You will have a role at the forefront of tackling fuel poverty in South East Scotland by building effective partnerships with a range of organisations including local authorities, NHS, registered social landlords, and other third sector organisations.
The role is externally facing, using excellent relationship-building skills to identify opportunities to fulfil the objectives of Home Energy Scotland and partner organisations. You will act as a representative for our team at a range of meetings, conferences and events to promote our services.
You will have experience working in a partnership setting, working with local government and third sector organisations, with excellent communication and networking skills and an eye for a great opportunity for collaboration.
Home Energy Scotland is a national service with five regional centres providing impartial advice and support to householders and small businesses on energy efficiency, renewables, water advice and low carbon transport. A particular focus of the service is for those in fuel poverty. We help people access funding support to feel warmer, save money and live more sustainably, reducing their carbon impact.
Our team delivers advice in a range of settings including phone, face to face and via home visit and training events. We also receive third party referrals via a digital solution, and key to this role is the promotion of these services.
The service is funded by the Scottish Government, managed by the Energy Saving Trust and delivered under contract by Changeworks in South East Scotland and the Highlands and Islands.

Reporting to the Deputy Chief Executive, you will have a pivotal role in implementing and enabling key business strategies. You’ll need to have both the ability to see the big picture and have strong attention to detail. You’ll also ensure we meet current environmental compliance and reach for higher levels of accreditation which support our continuous improvement agenda.
Leading a small busy team, you’ll be able to work across the organisation at all levels to integrate and support joint learning.

As an Energy Advisor at Changeworks you will have the opportunity to help households across the South East of Scotland to lower their energy bills and reduce their impact on the environment by providing high quality advice and information about energy efficiency.
Home Energy Scotland is the free, impartial advice service funded by the Scottish Government and managed by the Energy Saving Trust. Changeworks delivers the service in South East Scotland and the Highlands and Islands.
The ideal candidate and the role
To be successful in this role you should have a passion for customer service and be a confident communicator.
Our advisors speak to a wide range of customers with varied enquiries on a daily basis, providing them with high quality advice tailored to their circumstances and persuading them to take action and change their behaviours.
You will join a team of customer focused energy advisors based in a busy office environment, taking inbound calls and making outbound calls to our existing customers. An interest in the environment and sustainability would be an advantage but is not essential as full training will be given.

We will start to grow your knowledge of our services and energy efficiency straight away, the Home Energy Scotland advisor induction programme is an SQA accredited qualification, Energy Advisors are also required to complete the City and Guilds; Energy Awareness in the Home qualification.
