An exciting opportunity has arisen within VAER and we are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive person who enjoys working with people to join our amazing team.
We are currently working closely with the local Carers Centre to deliver a pilot initiative looking at supporting Carers to have a short break from their caring role through a sitter service, time banking volunteer roles or a combination of both.
This role is a great opportunity to support the delivery of this pilot project developing sustainable volunteering to provide short breaks for carers in East Renfrewshire.
As Volunteering Coordinator, your role will be key to the success of the delivery of this pilot, bringing a people-centred approach to develop a better experience for carers, cared for individuals and volunteers.

This includes promoting local opportunities to get involved, sharing community information, giving residents a voice, and creating safe spaces for communities to come together.

We will consider full-time or part-time candidates for this role, with the minimum of 21 hours/pw.

JOB PURPOSE:
As Communications Assistant you will support the Comms Lead and wider team to produce digital content that is relevant to our diverse audiences. You will use your communication skills to help us engage effectively with local people, volunteers, community sector, partners and funders.

The main focus of this lot is to assist young people eligible for the Young Person’s Guarantee funding to develop employability through volunteering and work placements including personal and social development skills and to progress through the Strategic Skills pipeline into or through employment.
