LINK is currently seeking a new Advocacy Manager. In this dynamic position you will guide the political strategy of Scotland’s voluntary environment network, informing collective work of its thirty-five plus organisations. The role monitors political contexts, opportunities and relationships relevant to the environment, underpinning network advocacy to Scotland’s decision makers and wider policy community. You will advise work groups spanning a range of environmental and sustainability issues, help to build network capacity in advocacy and communications, advise on and develop campaign strategy, prepare materials, co-ordinate events, liaise with other stakeholders and on occasion represent LINK. Working closely with LINK’s small staff team, you will have experience of supporting staff and management of projects.
You should be a graduate, with several years’ experience of Scottish public affairs, an understanding of Scotland’s institutions and an interest in the voluntary sector. You will be able to deal effectively with a large and fast-evolving workload and will have excellent team-working and communication skills. Flexibility for some evening and weekend work required.
Scottish Environment LINK is looking for a Programme Manager to help set up and develop a new Environmental Rights Centre for Scotland. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to work with us to create a much needed not-for-profit, public interest, environmental law organisation. Supported by and reporting initially to LINK and subsequently to the new ERCS Board, you will work closely with the Development Manager to deliver the vision outlined in our feasibility study of an Environmental Rights Centre for Scotland.
The successful candidate will have strong experience in advocacy, a good knowledge of environmental policy and legal context, ideally in the Scottish context. You will be an excellent communicator, have a naturally collaborative working style, and will thrive in a small, creative team. Experience of developing new initiatives would be an advantage.
