You don’t need to have experience of being on a Committee, as this is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for their first trustee role and who is passionate about the work we do. As we are part of the larger Caledonia Housing Group, this is also an excellent opportunity to be part of a significant Group that provides a wide range of housing, support, development and regeneration services.

Cordale Housing Association is an award-winning organisation who has made a significant impact in the area through the provision of almost 500 new homes to replace the previous poor housing, which has immeasurably improved the lives of residents in the area. In addition, we have established a community garden, provided local job opportunities, developed housing for older people along with the provision of support to remain independent and have participated in a host of other local services which engage and benefit the local community.

Cordale management committee members are an essential and valued part of the organisation. The team is required to give good independent judgement and sound management of Cordale to deliver excellent outcomes for tenants and service users.

You will have a genuine interest and commitment to social housing, putting our customers at the centre of everything we do to continue delivering on our mission of providing sustainable homes, flexible services and vibrant communities.

What can we offer?
This is a voluntary, unpaid position but management committee members can claim travel and other expenses for attending meetings. We also offer management committee members a training programme (both in-person and e-learning) and encourage them to develop their knowledge and leadership skills by attending various events and joining group sub-committees.
Your commitment
You will need to commit to attending 10 management committee meetings per year. These meetings are usually held in the early evening. In addition, you will be expected to take part in annual skills development and training provided by the Association to support you in your role as a management committee member.

Cordale Housing Association is seeking talented leaders to support its ambitions to make life better for residents and tenants in Renton and West Dunbartonshire.
Individuals with a record of success in any leadership role are being invited to join Cordale’s Management Committee.
The Association has successful completed a transformation programme, resulting in significantly improved performance and services, and is now mapping a strategy for further improvements.
The current Committee is made up of local residents, plus individuals with specific business skills. Its role is to ensure sound management of Cordale and to deliver excellent outcomes for tenants and service users.
These positions provide the opportunity to gain further governance and leadership experience. They are being offered on a voluntary basis, and full support and training will be provided.
