An opportunity has arisen to join part of the Dumfries and Galloway Citizens Advice Service Management Team as Business Development Co-ordinator.

Reporting to the Business Development Manager, the postholder will be responsible for the on-going development of our fundraising strategy (including development of some projects in partnership with other organisations), applications to statutory bodies and trust funds, and developing other funding streams. The postholder will manage short term Projects, ensuring successful outcomes and reporting these to the funding provider. The postholder will also assist the Business Development Manager with Health & Safety policy and delivery, buildings maintenance, and financial management.

As Business Development Co-ordinator, you will also be part of the wider management team. You will work strategically to embed our values of TRUST, RESPECT and INCLUSION at all times.

Excellent written communication skills for funding applications will be required, and experience of fundraising in other ways would be an advantage You will also possess the ability to reach out to partner organisations across the Region, negotiating and working with them for the benefit of our mutual clients. Outstanding leadership and management skills are necessary, with management of short term projects making the ability to organise teams, and achieve results quickly, imperative. You should have experience of, and/or qualifications at, SCQF level 9, and evidence of Continuous Professional Development.

The Multichannel adviser will play a key role in the delivery of an innovative multi-channel debt advice service in DAGCAS. This project aims to improve access to and the efficiency of debt advice services for people in Dumfries & Galloway. The multichannel advisers are the first point of contact with clients who access the service through a dedicated helpline by phone or via webchat.

Duties will include:

• Undertake diagnostic interviews with clients by phone, videoconference, face to face or via

webchat.

• Help with resolution of straightforward enquiries by providing ongoing support.

• Signpost clients who can do more to self-help.

• Identify emergencies and where necessary refer to money advisers for help with

emergencies.

• Assist the client to complete a financial statement and obtain relevant evidence to verify

income and expenditure.
