The Link Academy team works primarily with people with complex backgrounds. The service works hard and creatively to maintain the early engagement of participants. We support people by offering mental health and wellbeing programmes, independent living skills and a wide range of qualifications to support their progression including employability, tenancy, youth work and leadership award qualifications.
The Job
The purpose of the job is to support people to achieve their goals and aspirations through group work by providing opportunities to enhance their knowledge and skills. You will be responsible for recruiting, training and supporting the programme participants. You will support the achievement of high standards and provide monitoring information in relation to the project’s outcomes.
You will ensure that opportunities are provided to people equipping them with the skills to make a valuable contribution to the service and their wider community. You will support people into a positive destination whether that be re-engagement with education, training or employment. About You

This role offers an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to use their experience and skills to encourage and facilitate God’s mission across this area, with a focus on youth and young adults.
A theological background will be important; in particular, we intend to work within the Five Marks of Mission and a clear vision of these and of relational approaches to youth and intergenerational work will be required. Flexibility, creativity, and a willingness to share and experiment will all be vital. It is expected that the postholder will travel extensively throughout the Presbytery.
The successful candidate will have knowledge and understanding of youth ministry in an intergenerational context with the ability to translate this into good practice. They will also have an ability to work with Christians and churches from across the theological spectrum as well as with people who have little or no church connection.

Home-Start West Lothian is a volunteer-led charity with over 24 years-experience working in local communities, supporting families with a child under 5 in the home and group work support. Due to a retirement we are now looking to welcome a part-time Finance Officer for 14 hours per week to join our team.
This role will be responsible for general office duties and will work alongside the Operational Manager and the Chief Executive. The post-holder will work with the team to ensure that our services are well run and of a high quality. The Finance Office is responsible for overseeing the effective running of all finance activities for Home-Start West Lothian including the day to day financial tasks, monthly reporting and supporting the annual accounts process.

Summary of Post and Project
CashBack: Community Connections is a partnership project in West Lothian supporting young people at risk of offending, that will address three identified gaps in local justice provision:
It offers needs led holistic one-to-one and group work support for young people between the ages of 10 and 25, who are involved in offending behaviour or at risk of entering the Youth Justice system in the future and their families.
The project is led by trauma-trained staff, focussing on reasons for offending, behaviour, promoting consequential thinking, working around restorative justice and the impact of Anti-Social Behaviour and criminal behaviour on victims and the wider community.
Activities include skills for life and work, volunteering, health and wellbeing and employability support and is co-designed through each persons ‘programme for change’, creating positive connectedness to others in their lives and their community.
The Larder and their partners Youth Action Project, Project Scotland and West Lothian College are recruiting an experienced and dynamic Youth Worker to join the team on a full time basis to support the growth of the project. The post holder will deliver one to one and group work sessions across the whole project but will have a focus on the progression pathway of each young person, based on their needs and interests.
This is a new post and may require some evening and weekend work to meet the needs of the individual and their family. As part of the delivery team the successful candidate will support progression routes out of the project for each young person. This will involve fostering positive relationships with colleagues, young people, their families and a range of organisations, in the public, private and third sectors – offering progression options.
As a member of the CashBack team you will be reliable, enthusiastic and capable of positive interaction with all stakeholders and colleagues. You will have excellent communication skills, and able to engage with our learners in an empathatic and professional manner.
Experience of working with young people in a youth work or employability setting is essential as is a willingness to participate in further development in the post.
The post is for 37.5 hours per week and we are looking for someone who can drive and has their own transport due to the nature of the role.

Our Edinburgh Young Persons’ Service provides visiting housing support and supported accommodation to people between 16 and 25 years old who live in Edinburgh.
We support young people, who have been in care, experienced homelessness, trauma or any disadvantage to overcome the challenges they may face whilst helping them to achieve their own individual goals and shape their lives for a more positive future.
This can involve finding a suitable home, learning the skills to manage it as well as possible, working through life challenges, trying new things, and learning to see the best in themselves and fulfil their unique potential. We also have supported flats which vary in the level of support offered to suit the needs of the people who live there.
The Job
