The post is focussed in providing administrative support to project and service staff, volunteers and students, using all available technology and resources. The post holder will often be the first point of contact to the public, clients and practitioners and partner agencies. They will undertake a range of administrative duties to facilitate service delivery and be responsible for data collection and maintenance of record keeping systems.
The successful candidate will have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and have experience of database and electronic filing systems. Excellent communication skills and an ability to work as part of a team in a busy confidential service is essential.

VOCAL - Voice of Carers Across Lothian - seeks two enthusiastic and experienced Carer Brokerage Practitioners to join its busy and expanding team to provide brokerage support to carers across Edinburgh and Midlothian.
VOCAL is a carer-led organisation and provides a wide range of services to support unpaid carers in their caring role. Postholders will be expected to work as part of a team, improve outcomes for carers and maximise uptake of VOCAL and community services.
Postholders will be part of a SDS focused project, VOCAL about Independent Living funded by Support in the Right Direction, Inspiring Scotland. They will liaise with staff, relevant organisations and the funder whilst running the project, including Lothian Centre for Inclusive Living (LCiL) who will also have a funded post as part of this project . SDS carer support is already well established at VOCAL, and postholders will be able to benefit from the expertise of the practitioners who have been involved with SDS support to date.

We are looking for an individual who can integrate seamlessly into our existing team, working alongside it and relief adults to support excellent service delivery. We are looking for a Residential Worker to work 37.5 hours per week on a residential rota including early, late, waken nights, sleepovers and weekend shifts. You will have a knowledge and understanding of the importance of attachment, trauma and how this can impact on an individual’s development. At times our children express their distress through their behaviour and the role can be emotionally and physically challenging; we are therefore looking for someone who is resilient, understands that behaviour is a means of communication and is trauma responsive.
You will be skilled in building therapeutic relationships with the children, young people and young adults to enable them to feel safe, loved and cared for.
You must have the ability to quickly build your relationships with the adults within the house. The nature of the role is such that you could be working to cover a shift or longer periods as required, including days, wakened nightshifts and sleepovers and you may also be supporting young people to attend school or participate in other learning programmes. You must therefore be able to quickly adapt to the working environment within each house.
You will be comfortable with working within Aberlour’s culture embracing respect, integrity, innovation and the ability to challenge. Demonstration of these qualities will be particularly important in this role given that you will be dipping in and out of the different teams. About Options Ayrshire
Our Service is a busy respite service for children and young people with complex health needs, including severe learning and physical disabilities. As well as providing short residential breaks, the service offers outreach to families and is also involved in the managing and running of an after-school club as well as a busy Easter and summer playscheme.
What we are looking for....
We are looking to recruit to our Summer playscheme programme. Our playscheme runs 5 days per week, Monday to Friday, during the school holidays. You will work flexible hours as part of a team providing a programme of fun-filled activities and outings. Some previous experience in this area is preferred. Enthusiasm and a willingness to learn and work hard are essential. To allow us to provide a consistent, quality service it is desirable that applicants commit to working up to 5 days per week during the summer school holidays for a minimum of 12 hours per week. There will be an opportunity to work additional hours up to full time hours. Days will be given in advance. Our playschemes run in both Ayr and Girvan and staff may be expected to work at both sites. Mandatory training dates for staff will be arranged during the month of June before the commencement of the playscheme.

Aberlour Options Lothian offers a range of short break services to children and young people with complex needs. We offer a safe, homely environment for a child to come and stay for a short break that gives their families a rest from their caring role. Sacro’s mission is to deliver life-changing services that empower people, give hope and protection, and help to build safe communities.
We are looking for 2 x Women’s Support Workers from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) backgrounds to deliver direct practical support interventions for Sacro’s new Aditi Women’s Wellbeing Service in partnership with Multi Cultural Family Base (MCFB). You must have experience of cross-cultural work, be an effective communicator in English as well as in another language prevalent in Scotland’s Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities, highly organised and have effective casework management skills.
You will be responsible for delivering direct support and mentoring interventions to BAME women affected by domestic abuse and Honour-Based Violence (HBV) and for maintaining accurate case notes. You will operate within the Scottish Government’s Equally Safe Strategy as well as Sacro’s policies and procedures and will escalate any safety/well-being concerns around adult and child protection to the Service Co-ordinator/Service Manager. You will be responsible for monitoring women’s well-being throughout their journey within the service and for making appropriate follow-on referrals to relevant services. You will also be required to organise, deliver and participate in group community activities.
Membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme is a requirement this post. We particularly welcome applicants from BAME communities for this post, and applicants must be female. Funded by the City of Edinburgh Council.
