Learning Network West is a unique organisation, supporting Social Work Education and developing practice learning opportunities across the West of Scotland. We work closely with HEI and Local Authority funding partners across the West of Scotland to fulfil three core functions: the Mental Health Officer Award Programme, The Professional Development Award in Practice Learning, and social work student placement matching and development. As part of this existing work, the Network is working closely with stakeholders, including Scottish Government, SSSC and our partners, to ensure continued contribution and commitment to the on-going development of social work education in Scotland.
Due to the ending of a secondment, we are excited to be seeking appointment for a Practice Learning Development Officer (PDAPL Co-ordinator). The post holder will be responsible for working in partnership, to plan, deliver and evaluate the PDAPL programme. You will support the Head of Centre, and as part of the Big Noise Govanhill Senior Team, to ensure high quality procedures, processes and operational functions are embedded to maximise the success of the programme. You will be helping disabled people feel unstoppable. As Family Support Team Lead in the North of Scotland you will be delivering vital support to families affected by spina bifida and hydrocephalus.
You will be the person who will empower them to reach their potential, offering one to one support and coordinating chances for people to get together, make friends and build their support network.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and experienced manager to oversee the day-to-day management of Cruse Scotland West Area, this includes our teams in Ayrshire & Arran; Dumfries; Dunbartonshire; Glasgow & Greater Glasgow; Lanarkshire and Renfrewshire.
Candidates are required to have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills to provide managerial support, which is often provided from a distance.
Excellent communication skills are essential as the postholder is required to respond effectively to a wide range of enquiries which includes bereaved people. You will be required to establish effective working relationships with a range of Cruse Scotland volunteers and staff, as well as statutory funders and grant making trusts. Experience of volunteer management would be advantageous.
Due to the wide geographical spread of the role, the postholder will be required to travel occasionally to each of the service bases within our West Area; and to other locations within Scotland for meetings and training.
Whilst the role can be hybrid, we have recently secured a new office base in Glasgow so there will be a regular requirement to have a routine presence in the office.

The Role
Following the appointment of a new CEO in July 2023 and the restructuring of the Senior Leadership Team at the start of 2024 Apex Scotland is embarking on a period of positive change to support the development of the charity, reposition the organisation and focus on strategic priorities.
As a Trustee you will have a key role in leading these developments and overseeing the implementation of our strategic plan.

Linlithgow Young People’s Project (LYPP) is a youth charity working with young people from all backgrounds in Linlithgow and surrounding villages. Formed in 1990 by a partnership of local churches, LYPP's aim is to foster a sense of 'hope' in the lives of young people by creating engaging and encouraging spaces for them to grow!
LYPP’s work revolves around 5 key areas, Informal Drop-in, Health and Wellbeing, Schools Work, Holiday Programmes and Youth Volunteering. Each year, LYPP works with around 1000 young people from the age of 5 to 25, with our core presence being amongst those of secondary school age many of whom are from areas of deprivation. LYPP has grown significantly since its inception, partnering with the community, churches, and other local service providers to deliver barrier free and innovative youth work.

About the role
We are looking for a youth worker, with a minimum of 3 year’s experience, who is ready to take on this exciting role of developing our current drop-in provision within Linlithgow and Bridgend and explore the possibility of expanding this provision to Winchburgh. You will be required to coordinate, create and deliver informal youth work programmes in our drop-in spaces including topic-based sessions in consultation with young people. You will be expected to lead a small team of sessional staff and volunteers and develop exciting programmes for young people to be a part of.
The successful applicant with be responsible for coordinating our holiday programme throughout the February, Easter, Summer and October school holidays and take a lead on our community events in conjunction with young people and external partners. This will involve working with the wider LYPP team, managing waiting lists, and ensuring each event is safe and fun for all participants.
Applicants will be required to work within a set budget, creating risk assessments, advertising events on social media, and liaising with partner organisations and parents when needed. The successful applicant will become part of a dynamic and supportive team and will work collaboratively on their own projects as well as lending support to others.
