At Children’s Hospices Across Scotland – better known as CHAS – we are looking for a Volunteering Development Manager to join our growing multi-disciplinary team in Aberdeen. An expert in the field of volunteering, you will work collaboratively to establish volunteering programmes to support families throughout the region. Working closely with families of children with life-shortening conditions, clinical and social work colleagues as well as external partners, you will lead the development of volunteering strategy throughout CHAS services in the region.

A senior member of the CHAS Volunteering team, you will champion a quality volunteer experience and lead innovation by inspiring, educating and motivating staff in all aspects of volunteering development. Your passion and commitment to driving quality in volunteering will enable you to develop volunteering plans for the North East as well as implement the national volunteering strategy in the region.

This new role within the multi-disciplinary team will involve:

  • scoping the volunteering landscape and designing volunteering programmes to ensure our volunteers play a major role in the success of CHAS reaching more families across the North East.
  • identifying opportunities for partnership working
  • developing the very best volunteer offer and experience
  • driving the national volunteering strategy in the North East of Scotland

The role is based in the CHAS office in Aberdeen and involves some travel in Aberdeenshire and to other CHAS sites. We will provide you with the equipment you need to enable you to work flexibly and remotely.
