Role

Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home has been a safe haven for dogs and cats since 1883, and still rescues over a thousand lost or abandoned dogs and cats every year. The Home benefits from skills and experience of our 70+ strong staff, comprised of long-serving experts and enthusiastic new talent. Our passionate team is united by the love and dedication towards the animals in our care, and the belief that any dog or cat that comes to our door, whatever the reason, should be safe, warm and well-fed.

With an experienced staff team and a highly skilled board of trustees in place the organisation is seeking to appoint a new treasurer. This position forms part of a dedicated team of trustees already in place and would help to strengthen the board and support the organisation into the future.

This is a great opportunity for someone who has an understanding of charity or similar corporate financial governance to join our Board of Trustees; to support the leadership of the charity, drive forward the organisational strategy and bring a solid networking background that can help our aims.

What you will bring

  • Qualified Accountant (ICAS/ICAEW/ACCA/CIMA/CIPA)
  • A strong understanding and experience of finance department operations, preferably with some charity experience
  • Strong communication and influencing skills at a senior level
  • Excellent networking, collaboration and engagement skills
  • Ability to think and work strategically
  • A forward thinking and positive approach to the work of the Home
