Role

Lodging House Mission requires a Part Time Day Centre Supervisor (Weekends, 15 hrs per week) based in its Glasgow Day Centre premises in East Campbell Street.

Main functions

To supervise and manage the operations of the LHM day centre at weekends, offering emotional and practical support to our visitors as needed. This involves working as part of a team and working under your own initiative. In all tasks, the Day Centre Supervisor will provide and facilitate a welcoming, friendly and safe atmosphere for all visitors, staff and volunteers.

Main Duties

Are flexible to meet the needs of the charity and will include the following:

  • Full control of the weekend operation including staff management
  • Key holder responsibilities including opening and closing of the centre
  • Welcoming and engaging with visitors
  • Supervising entrance and access to the centre
  • Ensuring effective operation and use of clothing store
  • Facilitating access to showers
  • Liaising with support services as required
  • Dealing effectively with challenging behaviour
  • Implement LHM policy in relation to alcohol and drugs
  • Record keeping and statistical information as required
  • Familiarity and compliance with staff handbook

Preference will be given to applicants with the following attributes:

  • Ability to interact with and relate to staff, volunteers and service users
  • Experience in supervising staff
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office

IMPORTANT: the successful candidate will be required to fully respect the Christian ethos of the charity.

The successful candidate will work a 2-day week (15 hours), Saturdays and Sundays.

Normal hours of work will be from 7.30 am to 3.30 pm
