Fundraising Manager

In 2024, Hearts & Minds, the home of Clowndoctors and Elderflowers, will be marking 25 years delivering therapeutic clowning across health care units, schools for children with complex needs and hospices.

The role of Fundraising Manager at Hearts & Minds offers an incredibly exciting opportunity to drive meaningful change and support our impactful programmes at this momentous time in the charity’s history. As a pivotal member of the team, you'll spearhead the development of a comprehensive fundraising strategy that directly fuels the organization's initiatives. This role isn't just about securing funds; it's about crafting compelling narratives and fostering connections to inspire individuals, communities, and corporations to support a cause that truly matters. The dynamism lies in the ability to shape the future of Hearts & Minds by creating sustainable income streams that directly translate into tangible support for their programmes.

Office Manager

Hearts & Minds is a Scottish charity that works in collaboration with paediatric healthcare units, respite centres, schools for learners with additional support needs and in Dementia units to deliver laughter, friendship and support to those who need it most. We help vulnerable people overcome feelings of powerlessness, anxiety and isolation through the art of therapeutic clowning with our Clowndoctor and Elderflower Programmes.

We are seeking a part-time Office Manager, until March 2023 (may be extended), to manage finance, HR, business operations and administration. The post-holder will work with the CEO.

It is an exciting time to work with the organisation, as we move forward in the next stage of our development, implement strategic plans, grow our services and build our relationships with the people we serve and our funders.

We are looking for someone who has experience of working in an Office Manager role in a small business and/or charitable organisation. The post-holder must have the drive and commitment to push Hearts & Minds forward and to raise the profile of arts-in health in Scotland.

We are looking for motivated and dedicated individuals to join our Board of Directors. We are interested in people from all walks of life to bring fresh thinking, skills and knowledge to our organisation.

Hearts & Minds aim to improve health and wellbeing one smile at a time by providing extraordinary creative arts programmes.

We achieve our aim through two specialist arts-in-health programmes; Clowndoctors who work with children and young people in hospitals, hospices and education settings and Elderflowers who work with participants who are living with dementia in a care setting.

We are looking for motivated and dynamic individuals who are sympathetic to the aims and objectives of Hearts & Minds to fulfil their voluntary duties and who have experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Working in the arts or background in the creative sector
  • Those who work in Health or Social Care
  • Experience of marketing and communication
  • Experience of fundraising in the third sector
  • Knowledge and understanding of project evaluation

We particularly encourage applications from people who are ethnically and culturally diverse, and who experience racism in our society, women, disabled people , those from LGBTQI+ community, people from a working class background, young people under 30.

Digital Engagement Officer

Hearts & Minds is an arts and health care charity that uses the art of clowning to help people overcome feelings of powerlessness, anxiety and isolation.

We are a Scottish charity that works in collaboration with paediatric healthcare units, respite centres, schools for learners with complex additional support needs and Dementia units to deliver laughter, friendship and support to those who need it most.

Our Clowndoctors Programme supports children and young people to cope with life in a hospital, hospice or respite care setting and in schools for learners with complex additional support needs.

Our Elderflowers Programme helps people living with dementia or dementia-related conditions in hospitals and residential care homes. Through playfulness, smiles and laughter, we help all of these vulnerable people to deal with the anxiety, fear, confusion and sadness that their situations and conditions may bring.

We are seeking a part-time Digital Engagement Officer for 12 months. This post will drive forward the digitization of Hearts and Minds, helping to create ways to engage with our partners and service users in new, innovative digital environments.

This is a new role for the charity and expect this to be a driving force, championing the evolution of our charity in a digital environment and supporting us to make all digital content and engagement inclusive.

The post holder will work with the full team but in particular the Marketing and Communications Officer and the Fundraising Manager and a range of stakeholders.

It is an exciting time to work with the organisation, as we move forward in our development, implement strategic plans, aiming to grow our services and build on our relationships with partners the people we serve and our funders.

We are looking for someone who is dynamic, passionate and experienced in working in a digital role with energy and an innovative approach. The post-holder will be committed to pushing Hearts & Minds forward and to raise the profile of our work across Scotland.
