Short Term Housing Support
Support Workers in the Fife Support Services, Short Term Housing Support are responsible for delivering a housing support service for up to 6 months to enable people to sustain their tenancy and live as independently as possible in their own homes.
It is the Support Workers responsibility to develop effective relationships with people affected by a range of challenges, support them to cope in difficult times and enable them to live a good life. In doing so, to provide emotional, practical and social support to help people to live as independently as possible and make informed choices in all aspects of their lives.

Support Workers in the Fife Support Service, Long Term Care at Home are responsible for delivering a visiting care at home service to enable people to live as independently as possible in their own homes (which may include prompting of personal care and medication, where required, and help to enable people to develop practical household skills).
The post holder will provide emotional support, to assist people to take part in activities that matter to them and help them engage with their community to reduce social isolation.
It is the Support Workers responsibility to develop effective relationships with people affected by a range of challenges, support them to cope in difficult times and enable them to live a good life. In doing so, to provide emotional, practical and social support to help people to live as independently as possible and make informed choices in all aspects of their lives.
As a Support Worker in this service, you will support and assist service users to maximise their income and benefits. This might involve liaising with other agencies that may be involved with the service user, advocating on their behalf and accessing professional help if required and appropriate. In addition, you will support service users to cope with the responsibilities of a tenancy and help them take responsibility for the safety of themselves and their home.

Reporting to the organisation’s Welfare Rights Lead, you will ensure that people with MND and their families have access to the benefits to which they’re entitled. Ensuring provision of the advice and practical assistance needed to maximise the financial support available to individuals and families affected by MND. You will work with people affected by MND to identify their entitlements, based on their individual circumstances, and submit appropriate applications. Liaising with public bodies, as required, assisting clients in navigating often complex application processes and ensuring speedy access to benefits. Reassuring people with MND that they are being supported through a difficult situation.
You will be a highly motivated individual, have experience in welfare and benefits, have excellent communication skills and enjoy new challenges. A clear understanding of statutory welfare and benefits systems and processes is essential. As well as an awareness of the barriers faced by people with significant illnesses in society. This will enable people with MND to spend their precious time building special memories with their families, rather than worrying about their finances.

About the role
We are looking for a dynamic, creative, innovative team player to join our Young People and Families Service in Scotland. This role will be based in Scotland, ideally close to Glasgow but will support service delivery across Scotland and the UK.
As a Young People and Families Worker you will work with colleagues, partners, healthcare professionals, schools, volunteers, families and – most importantly – young people to co-plan, deliver and evaluate a high quality, holistic support offer locally and nationally.
You will help young people living with arthritis to build their confidence, make friends and achieve their personal goals. You will support young people during the pivotal transition from paediatric to adult services and life, making sure it is a time of empowerment and growth.

Our residential service in Inverness is one of two houses that Aberlour runs in the Highlands. Our experienced teams of staff seek to create a comfortable home for the young people where they can grow and flourish, participating in educational and community activities to achieve their goals.
What we are looking for....
We are looking to recruit a Residential Worker to join our team in Inverness, you will work 37.5 hours per week working in a residential house which is home for up to five young people. We have a core team of Residential Workers who support our young people, helping them to achieve and overcome the challenges they face. At Aberlour, we believe that every child deserves the change to flourish regardless of their background and the circumstances that have brought them to live with Aberlour. The children we support are presently not able to live safely with their own families and many of them have suffered from trauma and loss in their young lives. Working therapeutically with the young people, using a Dyadic Developmental approach, our aim is to help the young people to develop their confidence and self-worth and therefore to maximise their potential and opportunities for living fulfilled and happy lives. As a Residential Worker, you will play a fundamental role in ensuring that our young people are working towards their goals through supporting them with different daily activities. These activities can include college, different hobbies and attending fun groups. Not without its challenges and demands, this is a highly rewarding role.
This service operates a residential rota and, as part of this, you will be expected to work evenings, weekends, nights and public holidays. Shifts are set on a monthly basis and follow a rolling pattern, however may be altered to suit the needs of the service.

Are you a creative and motivated individual with the passion and drive to support people with a recent diagnosis of dementia to live well in their community?
If so, you can be part of a National Team of Post Diagnostic Support Link Workers (PDS Link Workers) providing high quality, person centered support to people living with dementia and their families for a minimum of a year following diagnosis in line the Scottish Government’s minimum guarantee.
The aim of the PDS National Service is to enable people to live well with dementia and is centered around Alzheimer Scotland's 5 pillar model so that people move on to a period of supported self- management.
The model includes understanding the illness and coming to terms with the diagnosis, peer support, connecting and maintaining links with their community along with planning for future care and decision making to develop an outcome focused plan to support their future hopes, desires and aspirations.
Supporting our Dumfries and Galloway locality, the post will be based within the Community Mental Health Teams. Alzheimer Scotland’s PDS Link Workers are required to be effective team workers and have the skills to build and maintain relationships with colleagues both within Alzheimer Scotland, the NHS and other stakeholders.
Skills in using digital platforms are essential as we use a blended approach to support people that involve some virtual meetings and on-line groups.
Applicants must hold a recognised relevant professional qualification to a minimum of SVQ level 4, have a good understanding of dementia and how it affects people and their families along with excellent communication skills, a warm flexible approach, combined with skills in empathy and relationship building.
In addition, you should have skills and knowledge at the Enhanced Level of the Promoting Excellence Framework or be able to evidence you are working towards its completion.
