Edinburgh Napier Students’ Association (ENSA) exists to enable students to make the most of their university experience. We do this by representing, supporting and developing Edinburgh Napier students to be successful in their studies; to try out new things; to engage in, and contribute to, university life; to be healthy and happy; to bring about positive change; and to have fun.

We are looking for an organised and customer-focused Student Activities Administrator to work within our Student Engagement Team to support the smooth running of our sports clubs and societies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Arrange and amend bookings for indoor/outdoor venues and transport to ensure the smooth running of student‐led clubs and societies; and keep up‐to‐date records of bookings

• Work with other Associations/Unions to fulfil and maintain the sports club fixture schedule (British Universities & Colleges Sport / Scottish Student Sport), ensuring all relevant information is submitted accurately and on time by sports clubs

• Respond to student and external stakeholder queries in a timely manner

• Maintain a system of recording equipment use (e.g. issued / returned) and carry out inventories

• Provide support to the Head of Student Activities, the Sabbatical Officers and the wider Student Engagement Team as necesary

Location: You will be based at ENSA’s main office on the Merchiston Campus with regular travel to the Sighthill Campus and occasional travel to Craiglockhart. Some home working may be allowed with the permission of the line manager and as business needs allow.

Treasurer and Trustees Wanted

Ricefield Arts & Cultural Centre is a registered charity and social enterprise for the exploration and promotion of Chinese culture and has an excellent reputation for delivering original and inspiring creative experiences, cultural events and workshops to community groups, public institutions and arts audiences around Scotland.

We are currently looking to appoint a Treasurer to join our small Board. The Treasurer will be responsible for managing all financial matters on behalf of our organisation and will be responsible for ensuring that the organisation has robust financial processes to ensure it meets its legal and constitutional requirements. It will also be the responsibility of the Treasurer to report the financial position at the board meetings. While we encourage and welcome applicants of all backgrounds, we are keen to hear from candidates that have experience of charity financial management or are chartered in a suitable accountancy field.

All Trustees are required to attend monthly board meetings, either at our office located in the heart of Glasgow city centre or via Zoom. In addition, we ask Trustees to attend our annual board development day, important meetings with stakeholders and some events and projects, where possible. As Ricefield Arts is a social enterprise, the role also involves serving as our Board of Directors.

Please note that this is a voluntary role. Neither the Trustees nor Board of Directors receive any remuneration, however, travel expenses incurred in carrying out board duties will be fully reimbursed.

Commitment

The board meets quarterly, either face-to-face, via video chat, or as a hybrid of the two.

The duration of Board meetings is usually no longer than 1.5 hours.

All relevant papers are forwarded on a reasonable timescale, either via email or posted in hard copy.

Being a trustee is a voluntary role but Bridging the Gap (Glasgow) will cover relevant out-of-pocket travel and other expenses that would allow you to attend meetings.

Aside from the board meeting, additional time consideration should be given to allow for time to read through relevant papers, follow up on any action points, and may involve attending occasional additional meetings, events, or strategy days.

This is an opportunity to join a small, dynamic, ambitious and welcoming team that believes in the transformative power of youth work and the power of partnerships. Operations Officers support the operational delivery and development of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) through managing a portfolio of Licensed Organisations (LOs).

LOs range from local authorities, state and independent schools to youth organisations, secure units and community groups. The DofE Scotland Operations team works with these licensed organisations to build their capacity, support their reach into more marginalised communities and ensure quality and compliance with the Award framework.

The DofE Scotland office covers DofE activity across the length and breadth of Scotland, working with over 150 Licensed Organisations and over 20,000 young people in the last year alone. Each Operations Officer manages a portfolio based on broad geographic region.

The role will be field-based and when not attending meetings, employees will work from home. You will need to have an appropriate home office set up and live within the region.
